Know about Reliance Jio and it's Plan in Detail

Jio, also known as Reliance Jio and officially as Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL),is an upcoming provider of mobile telephony, broadband services, and digital services in India. Formerly known as Infotel Broadband Services Limited, Jio will provide 4G services on a pan-India level using LTE technology. The telecom leg of Reliance Industries Limited, it was incorporated in 2007 and is based in Mumbai, India.

The services were beta launched to Jio's partners and employees on 27 December 2015 on the eve of 83rd birth anniversary of late Dhirubhai Ambani, founder of Reliance Industries. It is now commercially launched on 1st September 2016 with the best telecom offering in India. Reliance Jio has set a target to bring on-board about hundred ( 100 ) million customers in the shortest possible time. This announcement has made other network providers run for their strategy . In the AGM ( annual General Meeting ) held by the business tycoon Mukesh Ambani has said, it will be the biggest change in India. " I have always set impossible goals for the Jio Team and they have always exceeded my expectations. So, today I set a target for team JIO to acquire 100 million customers on the Jio Network in the shortest possible time and create a new world record ," he said at RIL's 42th Annual General Meeting.

Reliance Jio has already on-boarded 15,00,000 users on it's 4G network, during the testing phase. Jio, which will compete head to head on with players like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone, will offer usrs data services absolutely free for 4 months from september 5th onwards . They have also offered close to 10 different tariff plans starting at rs19 for minimal data users to a whooping plan of INR 4999 per month for the heaviest data users, details of the Jio plans are given at later stage of the post.What can one get with Jio ?

With Reliance Jio sim on-board, you associate yourself with the word " DATA " . Jio offers cards for 4G enabled smartphones and 4G hotspots for wireless internet on the go It also offers JIO APPS that promise to offer exclusive content which includes music, videos, TV shows and movies for free. Jio is also offering budget-friendly smartphones via it's own subsidiary LYF Mobiles. The company has planned to launch home internet with speeds upto 1GBps. Whoaa !

Does it work only with LYF Mobiles or partner devices ?

Answer is No. With it's commercial launch, the JIO sim cards will be available at Reliance Digital Stores and Partner stores, which will be a normal sim ,compatible with any 4G enabled Handsets. 

Can the activated sim work on other devices ?

This is a doubtful question, which is arising in everyone's mind. Answer is NO. Since, the sim is IMEI bound, it will only work on the device it was first activated in. So, it's a bit problematic, for those who uses multiple devices for their daily use.Also, as of now, Postpaid sims are currently not available.

Is JIO still in Preview stages or has it been launched fully ?

As per the latest buzz, Jio is still in test-phase, and hence you might face some issues. It will be launched completely in 2017. Till then , it is made available to public for free.

What are the Plans available with Reliance JIO ? 

Reliance JIO Plans look very lucrative and cheaper as compared to its counterparts. The average data cost for 1GB of 4G will cost from 25-50 INR, which is almost 10 times cheaper than the current offerings.

Complete Reliance Jio Plans :

As you can see from above image, the JIO Plans are quiet cheaper than the current plans offered by various players. I must say, Reliance is going to create a " DATA " and "Tariff " war, which will benefit end-users like us.

"Customers should pay only for one service, voice or data, but not both. World wide operators charge only for data, voice and messages are free. All voice calls or JIO customers will be absolutely free. The era of paying for voice calls is ending. Jio will usher india into the new era" said Mukesh AAmbani. He also added that roaming charges will also be NIL across India for JIO Customers. " Data rates will be one-tenth of the prevailing data rates." In our data plans, the effective rates will be 5p per MB or Rs 50 per GB. The more data you use, the lower will be the rate." he said.

Amongst a whole host of offerings, Mukesh Amban made : 

1. Starting from september 5th till Dec 31st 2016, Jio's bouquet of apps, all services will be available for free.
2. By March 2017, Jio will cover 90% of Indian Population
3. New handsets will start at Rs. 2,999
4. Roaming Charges will be zero for JIO Customers
5. Jio Will offer data at Rs. 50 per GB against Rs 250 per GB charged on an average by other Operators.
